Welcome to our Blog Spot and News Letter. As your new Relief Society Presidency we are grateful for this opportunity to serve you. We are each trying to find our niche and discover how we can best serve you and our Heavenly Father in this new calling.
Kasi Asay is our secretary; she is very willing to serve and brings a youthful perspective to our meetings. I know you will grow to love her. Kasi will only be with us until they go to school in August, so enjoy her while you can!
Janet Kinser will be serving as the Relief Society weekday counselor. She is very capable and has a strong testimony of Relief Society. I am grateful for her knowledge and her "doing" attitude. We can look forward to learning new ways to fulfill the purposes of Relief Society during our weekday activities as we:
Increase our faith and personal righteousness.
Strengthen our families and homes.
And serve the Lord and his children.
Jill Carpenter is our new Education Counselor. Jill has been involved in church education for many years. She has served as an Especially for Youth councilor, and has a love of learning. I appreciate her willingness to share her talents with us as a presidency and with you also. She will be a great strength to our Relief Society.
I am Susan Wilkerson. I have had a love of Relief Society for as long as I can remember. At a very young age I remember attending Relief Society with my mother. What fun we had. As a teenager my mother served as Relief Society President and I was able to see first hand the love and service she gave. As a mother I have always felt a need to attend Relief Society, not just because it gave me needed time out of the house, but because I knew that I had friends at Relief Society and I knew they were trying as hard as I was to live the gospel.
I love Sister Allred's quote from the October 2009 General Conference
"Every righteous woman has a significant role to play in God's plan and the building up of His kingdom. Relief Society needs you, and you need Relief Society."
We are especially grateful for the loving care we have all received over the last few years from Sister Holzer, Sister May, Sister Emmett and Sister Bassett. Thank you for your many hours of service and for the love and concern you have shared with us. May God bless you with your needs and in your future callings.
This Blog is such a great idea! I love your message. That has been a favorite quote of mine as well and I'm excited to be a party of RS again!! I know you three will do great...let me know what I can do to help! Kim Cutler
